34.1 4 Garbers to Lister
Appalling misfield from De villiers. My gran could have stopped that one!

No

1.4 W Stock to De villiers
Plumb as you like, low and straight, trapping him on the back foot. Hawk-Eye reckons that would have taken middle stump half way up, and this time there can be no disagreement.

Isn't DV's aggression defensive?
If so, maybe begbie should put him lower in the order somewhere like 4th or 5th maybe. Wink

We can tell you that South Africa U19 won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloudy day.

End of Over 5: 20-0, runrate=4.00
Bands 3-0-9-0
Anton* 8 (12 balls)
Nortje 12 (18 balls)

Aye maybe have tried that and he hasn't really done well there, I ideally want him to try and open the batting being defensive because he is there to try build an innings and the destructive/attacking bats come in later.

Welcome to Newlands for the match between South Africa U19 and England U19.

We can tell you that England U19 won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a little uneven. Should be tough for the batsmen on this sunny day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

they won the toss and elected to field.

End of Over 1: 3-0, runrate=3.00
Arthur 1-0-3-0

Martini has played most weeks so far.

Game 1 - 86 not out
Game 2 - 43 out
Game 4 - 6 out
Game 6 - 64 out
Game 8 - 0 out

Can you see a pattern? - He has played every week.

DV on the other hand hasn't!

Game 1 - 1 out
Game 2 - 2 out
Game 3 - 28 out
Game 6 - 10 out
Game 7 - 9 out
Game 8 - 3

Only week he has played when Martini hasn't is this week.

I am not playing Martini as said in my message to you, because he is still only a remarkable bat, in fact the last one and I am trying to win this series 2-0 and I think I probably could with my 3 exceptional/exceptional batters and players with better primaries and secondaries.

If I lose then slate me, if I win then I made the correct call.

No he didn't

he said that DV hasn't played every week, which is incorrect

Yes I'm pleased we won both matches, but Martini's performances have generally been stronger than some better rated pleayers was the point I was making!

His decisions are vindicated though as both matches were won

Shows how much I know.....
